An exhibition in many forms awaits you, with reproduced documents and photos from the archives, a film of behind the scenes footage of the museum, but also digital content.

The giant knife of concrete and steel emerges from a skatepark equipment that looks like a volcano, and its tip peaks up to 6 meters high. Newly installed, it already attracts a constant stream of visitors.

OPINEL SERIES Exhibition
After its expansion in 2018, the Opinel Museum now offers its visitors a new room specially for temporary exhibitions.
From 25 June to 16 September 2018, the Opinel Series temporary exhibition presents the work of dozens of international artists from the Art By Friends collective all using an original creative medium: the Opinel knife.
After exhibiting many times between 2016 and 2017 in Bayreuth, Montreal, Geneva, Vicenza, Brooklyn, and Annecy, some fifty works will be presented for this last stage at the Opinel Museum in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne.
The artists had free rein to express their artistic vision by reinventing the Opinel knife by making changes or adding their artwork to the haft and the blade.
The varying techniques of painting, collage, sculpture, drawing, stencil and pyrography will surprise an audience of any age.
Opening hours: 9am to 6pm
